Clerk of Course and Centre Stewards Seminar

Tuesday the 4th July saw 28 participants attend the C of C and centre stewards seminar held at Milkwall in the Forest of Dean. The seminar was attended by old and young with a spread of 56 years, and participants included 2 former British champions, the current western centre champion and 4 previous western champions at some age, group and point.

The course was run by Julian Bishop from the West Glos and Dean Forest Motorcycle club and covered both trials and enduro. The evening consisted of a short tutorial from Julian followed by a test which was "open book" and on some occasions appeared to be a team effort! The test was straightforward but was very good in highlighting key aspects to consider in the organisation of our sport, answers were found in the ACU hand book. After the test there was a short review of the answers and then when business was finished the pub laid on some chips and other nibbles for the tired brains.

The seminar was attended by 7 clubs, these included WGDF (4), Mercian Dirt Riders (2) G&C (3), SVMC (7), Malvern (3), WVAC (5), Others (4). On the whole a good, fun evening with a lot of laughs and a serious job well done. The future of the sport looks bright and we can look forward to seeing all participants running trials shortly. A big thanks must go to Julian and the Landlady for all their effort in putting on a cracking evening for all concerned.
