Cheltenham Home Guard MCC took the chance to shake things up and provide an opportunity to ride once again - on a Tuesday.

"We had 10 sections and rode in groups of 4," said Sam Wilson of CHG, and one of the landowners. "We had a couple of first timers who got plenty of useful advice from the others in their group, and a significant number of older bikes - John Sanders, Nigel Townsend, Pete Collins, Dave Arkell, Goff Hannam to name a few had some good rides on the harder sections where they felt confident to give it a go."Gerry Minshall bought two trick looking bikes, a James and a Bultaco. Nigel Tustin had his first outing on a new Beta 4 stroke."

Scores were not recorded at this test event but the next midweek event may well be observed and marked.

The club would like to thank David Walker for the use of his land and Dave Morris, Steve Venn, Phil Goodwin, John Edmonds, Richard Gwinnut, Goff Hannam and Jim Delahay for help in setting up sections.

The next midweek trial is planned for Tuesday, June 1 - we will bring you more details as soon as we get them.
