The SSDT 2016 started off very, very wet but dried up by Friday and Saturday - but it had taken its toll some riders with ACU Western connections, while others battled through.

As the results show, all of Steve Saunders' TRS machines finished, including one in the hands of Becky Cook - whose husband Craig secured 83rd place just 10 marks ahead of Dursley's Fred Adams on in 86th.

Becky, and Craig's brother Gareth also secured first class awards, with first timer and ACU Western Youth Squad graduate Victoria Payne earning a well-deserved finisher's medal.

For Gloucester & Cotswold's Matthew Christopher and West Glos & Dean Forest's Ben Bowkett, early numbers on day one did not help them as they battled water ingress in the bikes, and running out of fuel. Ben had to call it a day on Day 3 but Matthew battled on to gain valuable experience and did so until gashing his hand with the end very close in sight - bad luck lads. There's always next year.

The 2 Day Pre 65 trial saw Steve Hancox battle round with his Triumph twin, while Ben Falconer's Villiers gearbox gave out 500 metres above sea level - thanks to the backmarkers who got him down the mountain!
