Zona One held the John Workman Trophy Trial at Hayes Coppice SP off the A40 Monmouth to Ross Rd 200yds past Welcome to England sign on left (see a map on multimap.com). Results are now on our homepage.

This is a new venue and is not suitable for an easy route but will include a 50/50 route between hard and alternative. The Club hope riders and observers will support this trial as it is a superb venue.

John Workman was Woodland Advisor to the National Trust and other bodies throughout the country. He owned numerous woods around the area and encouraged motor sports in these woods including motorcycle trials, car trials and car rallies, the later succumbed to footpath legislation and insurance. All his woods are now owned by the National Trust but thanks to him a car trial and motorcycle trial are still held in Workman's Wood i.e. Ebworth Woods.
