Inter Centre Team Trial, 15 August 2010
Results are out for the Scarborough MCC event and the Western Centre team did us proud.
This event is usually a very stern test and this year's was no exception. Ben Bowkett, Henry Bendall, Barry Husband, Matthew Welch, and Matthew Christopher knew they were in for a tough time.
Simon Welch reports: "The boys had a tough day, but when you consider they were riding against all of the top ten riders in the UK (Dabill, Brown, Wigg, etc) it was always going to be. They also introduced a 1min 30sec time limit per section which meant that I had to run around with the team with a stop watch. They all gave it 100%."
Team manager Peter Hughes adds: "It was a tough event, some big natural stuff and some manmade sections. All our team enjoyed the event and put in a good effort - Henry and Ben attemped all the sections, even the three killers! Barry and Matt Welch used their experience on what was ridable for them, and Matt Christopher who was very nervous put in some stylish rides. The team was backed up by Simon and Robin Christopher with Tom Welch, Alf Bendall and myself taking turns at observing and time keeping."
